The Best Stroopwafel Workshop in Amsterdam: An Honest Comparison
Two hands-on stroopwafel workshops, one honest side-by-side: prices, what you take home, and which one fits your visit.
By Daniel MellicovskyBaker and owner, Melly's Stroopwafels

If you are trying to decide between them, here is the honest side-by-side. Full disclosure: we run one of the two, so all details about the other come from their own website, and where they are the better fit we say so.

What both workshops get right
The honest starting point: you will have fun at either one. Both are genuinely hands-on, you press real stroopwafels on a hot iron, fill them with warm caramel and take home what you made. Both take about 45 minutes, both welcome families, and both send you off with a certificate. Nobody leaves either workshop disappointed, which is why the real question is which one fits your visit.
When Melly's is the better fit
- You are staying in the centre. We are two minutes from Dam Square, inside our own bakery, so the workshop slots easily between a canal walk and dinner.
- You are bringing small children. Toddlers up to 3 join for free and children from 4 to 12 pay €20, which usually makes us the cheaper option for a family with young kids.
- You want the decorating part. After filling, you decorate both stroopwafels with toppings of your choice, and they go home in a gift box. It is the step kids (and most adults) remember.
- You are booking a group. We host private sessions and team outings with prices that drop as the group grows. See the private group workshop for details.
When The Stroopwafel Workshop is the better fit
- You are already in De Pijp. Their space sits in the middle of Albert Cuyp Market, so you can fold the workshop into a market morning.
- You want the lowest adult price. Their daily 15:00 session starts at €19 per person, which beats our adult rate if you are travelling without children and can make that time.
Book your spot
Whichever you pick, you will leave with warm stroopwafels you made yourself. You can check live availability and book the Melly's workshop here, and their sessions are on their website. If you cannot make a workshop at all, come by the shop near Dam Square and at least eat one warm off the iron.
